Welcome to the School Dinners page!
At St Wulstan's & St Edmund's, we understand just how important it is for young people to have a healthy and balanced diet. That is why our school dinner menu is filled with a variety of nutritious, high-quality meals. We cater for a variety of tastes, with a diverse range of options available every week, including vegetarian dishes.
For children in year 3-6 the cost of lunch is £2.50. All children in Foundation, Year 1 and 2 are entitled to a Universal Free School meal (UIFSM). This is a Government initiative which provides a meal to all children, regardless of family income, in Foundation, and Key Stage 1.
At the end of the week, the charge will be added to your child's account on Arbor. Please ensure that your account remains up to date. Failure to make payments for school dinners will result in your child needing to move to packed lunches.
All of our menus comply with School Food Standards. Our meat is Red Tractor Farm Assured, our fish is MSC certified and we also use a number of Free Range and Organic products throughout the menu.
All our menus are checked using a recognised programme to analyse nutrition. We also work with Lancashire Healthy Schools and support the Change 4 Life campaign.
Children are served in two sittings, infants first and then juniors. This means infant children (Reception, Year 1 & Year 2) have a playtime after their lunch whilst junior children (Years 3, 4, 5 & 6) have playtime either side of their lunch.
School Dinner Menus
Our School Cook, Mrs Christine Johnstone, is keen to ensure every child has a happy lunchtime and a nutritious school meal of their choice. We therefore allow children to order a hot meal or bring a packed lunch on a day to day basis. This has meant happy faces and clean plates in the dining hall! Our lunch board outside of the school office allows all children to see what the lunch choice is for that day and for the following day.
