The Government is providing further funding to provide substantial primary school sport funding. This funding is being jointly provided by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport and will see money going directly to primary school head teachers to spend on improving the quality of sport and PE for all their children. This funding has been extended and will continue for the 2025/26 financial year. Sport funding can only be spent on sport and PE provision in schools.

Swimming results 2024/2025

The percentage of children who can swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres is -  96%   

The percentage of children who can use a range of strokes effectively -  90%   

The percentage of children who can perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations -  90%
