Home Learning

Home learning gives children the opportunity to practise, revise and consolidate the learning they have done in school. We encourage children to develop good routines and take pride in their learning.

  • Maths Paper Challenge – A maths paper challenge will be sent home to help children practise their maths skills.
  • Daily Reading – Please read with your child every day and record this in their reading record. Little and often is most beneficial. Daily reading really does help children develop their learning across the curriculum.
  • Spellings – A spelling list will be sent home at the beginning of each half term. Children will be taught the spelling pattern at the start of the week and tested on their spellings on Friday mornings. Please encourage your child to practise regularly and make use of Spelling Shed to support their learning.
  • TT Rockstars – Daily practice of around 5 minutes, playing a mixture of Jamming and Garage, is essential in helping children become more fluent with the focus times tables for Year 3.

PE

Please ensure that PE kits are in school every day, as PE days may change due to school events or weather.

On PE days, please encourage your child to remove their earrings before coming to school and leave them at home. Any earrings worn on PE days must be removed by the child themselves before the lesson.
Year 3 PE lessons will be on a Friday
